12th Business Student Summit CODEB 4A
           September 3-5, 2018

September 28, 2018 the Business Administration students attended a seminar held at Alonte Sports Arena. Hundred of students together with the deans and educators rock the event-place their enthusiasm and cooperation.

The first speaker was Mr. Jos Ortega. He is a Marketing Communications Consultant, Chairman and CEO of the Havas Ortega, the first fully-integrated agency in the Philippines who believes in ‘Stories. Experience. Meaning’. His topic was about “UYNDERSTANDING THE MILLENIALS”. According to him, the millennials under the influence of technological progress and other factors influencing the development of personality have become a distinctive layer of society, having a special attitude towards life. They have their own fears, problems, insecurities and difficulties.

Millennials are the new generation of people, who were born on the edge of millennium. They have proven to be the most educated generation, despite hard times in the economy. Realizing that millennials have different values in life, and balance of work life and free time, we are all different in ourown way and that’s wherte being millennial comes in.

The second speaker was Mr. Jonathan D. De Luzuriaga. He is the president of the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA), he also leads the way for the Information Technology industry to meets its vision of “Driving the Philippine Software Services and Products Industry” to attain and sustain Global Leadership in market share. He shared with the participants the “SOCIAL MEDIA TOOLS AND APPLICAION’. With today’s society becoming more connected and more reliant on the internet, business ties are increasing being forged online rather than in boardroom. Nowadays, most brands have least one online presence, and most have several. Social platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat are the new homes of conducting a business, creating consumer bases and advertising products. However, the overwhelming presence of business on these platforms creates good deal of presence for companies trying to beat their nearest competitors.

Fortunately, marketing teams don’t have to go it alone in their efforts to raise their brand on the top. A number of third-party apps exist that can enhance certain features of these social platforms and make social media marketing a more lucrative and intuitive experience.

The last speaker was no other than Ms. Beverly Aquino, the CEO of Lugaw Queen. The participants were inspired by her story; she was supposed to pay for her family’s electric bill when she decided to use the money for another purpose that would completely change her life. Born into poverty, she has really come a long way thanks to the success of her business. Everyone was learned that, we have to take risk in order to succeed just like the quotation says “try and try until you succeed”. We have to believe in ourselves, we should not listen on what the other people says, the only thing that matter is that, we know ourselves more than others do and believe that we can do it. In order to succeed the most important thing is that we do it with a heart. (J. Francisco)
