TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is the government agency tasked to manage and supervise technical education and skills development (TESD) in the Philippines. It was created by virtue of Republic Act 7796, otherwise known as the “Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994”. The said Act integrated the functions of the former National Manpower and Youth Council (NMYC), the Bureau of Technical-Vocational Education of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (BTVE-DECS), and the Office of Apprenticeship of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

CAREGIVING NCII

Caregiving is one of the courses offered by SACLI-Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), a program that lets aspiring people obtain knowledge in providing quality care for infants; children; senior citizens, and even people with disabilities. Supporting them in their basic needs; with their personal and hygiene-related needs such as; taking a bath; changing clothes; medical maintenance and other related supporting actions that they need.

Undergoing this training will lead you to know the proper physical approach, proper social approach, proper intellectual approach, and proper emotional approach. This course is not as easy as it sounds for it requires total patience, dedication, and willingness. Otherwise, one will not be suited in becoming a caregiver. On the other hand, countries are in need of such applicants so it will be easier to be hired than any other job opportunities there being offered.

BREAD AND PASTRY PRODUCTION NC II

Bread and Pastry Production NC II (also known as Baking and Pastry Production NC II) is a technical-vocational program that develops the skills of students in preparing and producing bakery/pastry products, cakes, and desserts.

Students of the Bread and Pastry Production NC II program are trained in using modern baking techniques, equipment, tools and utensils, and other baking appliances. Students are also taught about different presentation methods, sanitation, and safety.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICES NCII

Food and Beverage Services NC II is a technical-vocational program that trains students in the preparation of food plans and meals for restaurants, hotels, canteens, banquets, and functions, and basically any establishment that serves food to a large number of people. The program teaches students how to properly welcome guests and take food and beverage orders, promote food and beverage products and provide food and beverage service to guests. This program educates students about kitchen/service area procedures and protocols and the general routine and responsibilities in the food and beverage department. More importantly, students are properly oriented on how to receive and handle guest concerns.

BARTENDING NCII

Bartending NC II is a technical-vocational program that develops the skills of students in the preparation and mixing of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Students are taught the basics/characteristics of different alcoholic beverages, appropriate tools and glassware to be used, and how to serve drinks.

Students are trained in different preparation and presentation techniques and methods based on industry standards. Procedures for proper cleaning of the bar area, bar operation, and wine services are also included in the program.

COOKERY NCII

This is a technical-vocational program that develops skills in planning, preparing, cooking and serving various menus. Students are taught how to make/cook meat, appetizers, salads, vegetables, sandwiches, eggs, desserts, and more.

Students under the Cooking NCII program are trained in different food preparation and presentation techniques based on industry standards. Topics like receiving, storing, and managing kitchen supplies are covered in the program.

HOUSEKEEPING NCII

Housekeeping NC II is a technical-vocational program designed to prepare students for housekeeping jobs in hotels, motels, and resorts. The program equips students with skills in housekeeping services, guest room preparations, laundering, and cleaning.

The Housekeeping NC II program teaches students bed making, inventory, and replenishing room supplies, performing basic repairs in either room or guest’s personal belongings, sorting clothes according to the cleaning process, selecting laundry process according to a degree of spoilage, color, and type of fabric and more. Students will also be taught how to provide valet/butler services to clients and guests.
